Brazilian Rhythms
Brazilian Rhythms offers a hands-on approach to common brazilian grooves such as samba, bossa, and baião applied to the piano. Other less widely known rhythms like maracatu, afoxé, and candomblè are also presented. A full two-hand piano arrangement of Tom Jobim’s classic bossa, Wave, is also included, with a written score and a rundown of the techniques used to create the arrangement. A special feature of the course is a series of brazilian grooves applied to harmonic sequences and vamps – a fun way to learn basic elements of popular music harmony combined with a Brazilian vibe! I will also show you some basic “reference rhythms” to unlock the secrets of brazilian swing and apply it to your composing and improvising instantly!
