This is an all-instruments course with videos on: Harmonic Structure and Analysis – “Coltrane Changes” Improvising techniques, including pentatonics, fourth chord arpeggios, upper structure triads, intervallic shapes, minor-major triads, and bebop scales. Two complete left-hand comps – one with rootless voicings and a second with single-note stride. A walking bass line (in the range of acoustic bass) with a simple right hand comp. Complete written solo on two choruses of Giant Steps”, fully analyzed. A written solo using fourth chord arpeggios. A couple of choruses of “Giant Steps” by yours trully at the piano!
